Saturday Breakfast

Saturday morning we woke to an overcast day. Chilly. At time rain drizzled down. But this didn't put a damper on our enjoyment. We left our motel at eight, New South Wales time. First stop was McDonalds for breakfast.

Everyone fill up on pancakes. I had apple and a drink of coffee.

Trust Respect I didn't have

In a marriage there is suppose to be trust and respect, if not there, what do you have? For most of my first marriage I didn't receive either from my husband. The partnership consisted of three adults and the children. To come to that answer you have to have a wife, husband and his mother pulling strings, and sticking in her nose where it was not welcome. The main reason for her interference was to take my daughter to raise because she only had sons. But I fought tooth and nail until my life was in question. After my third pregnancy I was advised by my doctor, and a specialist, to do something to prevent any further pregnancies. The pill was not an option because my system will not take to induced foreign medication. A fitted application I refused because it didn't stop you having more children. I spent time with a woman in the maternity ward who had given birth to another child and the piece came out with the afterbirth. So I went for the permanent solution. I had the tubes ...

Sanitary Man

Ted crawled from his warm bed to venture out into the cold frosty morning to go to work. He left home before the sun rose each work day whether it be rain, hail, frost, or a hot summer's morning. Like the postman the sanitary man had to face all the different weathers thrown his way. “ Morning, Bess.” Ted rubbed his hand over her back. He wrapped his arms around her neck while he whispered in her ear. He slipped the bit into her mouth before pulling the gear over her head to then buckle the cheek strap. Ted led Bess to where the wagon waited. Bess backed up to be harnessed to the wagon to commence the round for the day. The pans rattled on the wagon while Bess clip-clopped along the streets to this mornings destination. Rugged up from the cold, Ted prepared himself to remove the outer layer of his warm jumpers. Today I pay the piper

Why couldn't the sun have risen...later? Every muscle ashes. I rolled over to return to dreamland. Oh. No. I wish the driver of the tilt train would keep his hand off of the whistle. Ah. Well. I'd better rise to finish the job. Or try to. Dressed. I gathered up the clothes to wash. Carried them down the steps to the laundry. Once the washing was set I went to make a much needed coffee. Slipping on gloves, I grabbed the handsaw on my way out the back door. I collected the rubbish bin on my way. The parrots screeched. I had dared to disturb their morning feed. If anyone wanted to sleep in they'd be awake, now. I had a job to do. Anyway. I'd skipped my breakfast. Picking up the pick I started the clean up. I kept a look out for toads. Or snakes. I cringed at the thought of either one appearing from the rubble. My hands. And back. Complained. Taking up the handsaw I cut the limbs into smaller pieces to fit in the bin. I cursed.
